How to install bearings correctly?

Before installing the bearing, clean and inspect the bearing, prepare the installation tools, and select the appropriate installation method according to the structure of the bearing. There are two main installation methods for bearings, usually press-fit or shrink-fit. Grease should be used during installation to prevent bearing deformation. After installation, the bearing still needs to be inspected and maintained.

Press fit mounting of small bearings

1.Clean the shaft journal and bearing seat bore simultaneously. Align the slewing bearing with the journal and bore simultaneously. Apply the press-fitting tool to the inner and outer ring end faces (ensuring even force).

2.Apply pressure at a low, steady speed, monitoring the concentricity of the shaft and bearing seat in real time. After press-fitting, check the fit between the bearing end face and the locating surface to ensure there is no looseness or deflection.

3.Check the bearing clearance after installation to ensure there is no local bulge or deformation

Shrink-fit installation of bearings

1.Heat the bearings no more than 120 degrees

2.Add transformer oil or special bearing heating oil to the heating tank

3.Take out the heated bearing and immediately measure the inner ring temperature again with a thermometer to ensure that the temperature is within the range of 80-120℃

4.When installing, ensure that the bearing center is coaxial with the shaft diameter center, and tap the end face with a copper rod to ensure there is no gap.

5.After installation and cooling, check whether the inner and outer rings of the bearing are deformed or cracked, and whether the raceway is scratched, and rotate it for performance test.
