LTZC supplied Shanghai Electric Nuclear Power Heavy Industry with the bearing model 111.50.4450.03/P5, a key core component adapted to China's largest numerically controlled friction welding machine. With an outer diameter of 4700mm, the bearing features a helical tooth design, requiring the gear accuracy to reach grade 7 with gear grinding treatment. It also integrates a crossed roller bearing structure, presenting characteristics of large workpiece size, thin thickness, and proneness to deformation.

in response to the special structure and performance requirements of the bearing, LTZC set up a special technical team led by senior engineers. To address the issue of the workpiece being prone to deformation, the team first conducted strict screening in the raw material selection stage, choosing high-strength, high-stability special steel. Through precise heat treatment processes, they enhanced the material's mechanical properties and deformation resistance. 

In the processing stage, to match the super-large outer diameter of 4700mm, the company used customized large-scale precision processing equipment, combined with advanced numerical control technology, to achieve high-precision cutting of key parts such as the bearing's inner and outer rings and raceways. For the grinding treatment of helical teeth, technicians employed special gear grinding machines, repeatedly adjusting tool parameters and processing paths to ensure the gear accuracy stably reached grade 7, while guaranteeing the tooth surface finish and meshing performance.

Additionally, considering the strict assembly accuracy requirements of crossed roller bearings, the team innovatively adopted a combination of step-by-step assembly and real-time inspection. Using precision instruments like 3D coordinate measuring machines, they dynamically monitored each assembly step and adjusted assembly errors in a timely manner to avoid cumulative errors affecting the overall performance of the bearing.

The project achieved remarkable results

 After successful delivery to Shanghai Electric Nuclear Power Heavy Industry, the bearing, when first applied to China's largest numerically controlled friction welding machine, demonstrated excellent performance: during operation, the bearing rotated smoothly, with precise and efficient helical tooth transmission, and the gear meshing noise was controlled at an extremely low level; the crossed roller structure effectively dispersed the load, enabling the bearing to maintain stable working conditions even under large-tonnage pressure, meeting the requirements of high-intensity and long-term continuous operation of the friction welding machine.
